Missed a day? Start again, not over.

Bring a missed commitment back into the conversation and decide what needs to change.

Keep the useful evidence

Missing Wednesday does not erase what you learned on Monday and Tuesday. Look at the actions you took, the conversations you had and any new information. Those are still part of the context, even if the next commitment did not happen.

Revisit the goal and the schedule

The outcome may still matter while the original approach needs to change. You can care about learning a language and decide that an hour every evening does not fit your life. Say what changed and decide what would be realistic now.

Make a smaller return

Choose an action that reconnects you with the work. Read one page, reopen the draft or send the question you need answered. If you are unsure where to begin, talk through the friction before adding another commitment.

Give the next check-in an honest starting point

Record what happened and what you want to try next. Correct a summary if it misses the point or keeps you attached to a goal that has changed. Continuity is useful when it reflects your current priorities.
