Start with what happened
Look at the commitments you made, the conversations you had and what followed. Describe the week before judging it. “I sent the proposal on Thursday” is a more useful starting point than “I was not productive enough.” Include any decisions you changed along the way.
Ask what made it easier
Was the commitment clearly defined? Did talking it through help you see the sticking point? Did an idea from your notes give you a better approach? Name one condition worth repeating, and keep the source or context if you want to return to it.
Ask what got in the way
An obstacle is information. If the same commitment keeps slipping, revisit its size, timing and purpose. Something that mattered on Monday might be less useful after Wednesday’s customer call. Update the plan to reflect what you know now.
Choose one adjustment
Finish with something concrete: make the first draft shorter, ask for feedback sooner or protect a small window before the week fills up. Leave a note about why you chose it. That gives your next check-in a starting point you can recognise.
